Knolls wins MCT prelim; Delbarton, Boonton triumph

Hugo Jimenez scored 21 points and Mike Signer added 18 to lift Morris Knolls past Dover 65-49 in a preliminary round Morris County Tournament contest on Friday.

The Golden Eagles (9-6) took control early and built a 35-24 advantage at the half. Morris Knolls, the 13th seed, faces fourth-seeded Hanover Park in the opening round next week. Dover (6-8) was the 20th seed.

Regular season

Delbarton 56, Randolph 43 — Rob Thoma scored 19 points and Ryan Curran added 15 for the Green Wave (8-5).  Ryan Harris scored 15 points and Michael Talbert added 13 for the Rams (8-10).

Boonton 47, Butler 44 — Sami Asani scored 36 points including four 3-pointers for the Bombers (4-9). The Bulldogs were paced by Eric Mullin’s 20 points. The Bulldogs drop to (3-9).
