Delbarton shocks Hanover Park; Morristown, Jefferson prevail

Sean Hoehn scored 21 points and Zach Certner added 12 to lift Morristown to a 59-48 triumph over Morristown-Beard in boys basketball action on Saturday. James Mongey added 11 points and A. J. Tracey had 10 for the Colonials (9-1). Morristown  rallied from a 31-22 halftime deficit to upend the Crimson. Morristown pulled away with a 20-9 fourth-quarter run. Mark Aboyoun scored 19 points for Morristown-Beard (8-4).

Delbarton 72, Hanover Park 60

The Green Wave led 28-21 at the half. The fourth quarter was a wild one with both teams combining for 58 points.

Jefferson 66, Mountain Lakes 38

The Falcons improve to 12-0 and remain the only unbeaten team in Morris County. Jefferson led 34-17 at halftime and controlled the game the rest of the way.

Morris Catholic 70, Malvern Prep 61

An 18-8 run in the fourth quarter boosted the Crusaders who traveled to Philadelphia for the contest. Sophomore Wayne Patterson scored 26 points and sophomore Amir Allen scored 22 points and grabbed 19 rebounds for the Crusaders. Morris Catholic pulled away with an 18-8 burst in the fourth quarter.

Mount Olive 71, Mendham 63

The Marauders improve to 10-2 with a solid bounce back road win after Thursday’s loss to Pope John. Mendham led by a point at halftime, 31-30, but Mount Olive pulled away with a 25-16 fourth-quarter effort. Zach Heeman had 17 points and eight rebounds, Rashaan Spencer had 16 points and six assists and Ryan Traub had 14 points and 10 rebounds for Mount Olive (10-2). Alex Jacobs scored 33 points and Jack Horan added 23 points for Mendham.
