Morristown routs Randolph, Boonton’s Asani hits 1,000


Sean Hoehn scored 28 points including 20 in a strong second half to lift Morristown to a 78-50 victory over Randolph on Tuesday.

Nick Duff added 18 points and James Mongey and Zach Certner had 12 points apiece for the Colonials (15-1).Morristown is on a 9-game winning streak. Greg Moserowitz scored 12 points to lead the Rams (12-9). The Colonials took control early with a 16-1 run to start the game. They maintained a double digit lead for most of the contest.

Mount Olive 80, Morris Hills 44

Ryan Traub and Donte Wise each scored nine points in a balanced effort for the Marauders. Dillon Washington and Bill Morin had eight points each for the Scarlet Knights. Mount Olive led 51-19 at the half.

Morristown-Beard 54, Whippany Park  41

Stephen Sangree scored 15 points and Ben O’Connell added 13 to spark the Crimson. Morristown-Beard led 28-14 at the half. Ryan Gaynor had 16 points for the Wildcats.

Boonton 79, Kinnelon 71

Sammy Asani scored 35 points including his 1,000th career varsity point for the Bombers. He finished the game with 1,004. Asani also had eight assists and four steals and Joe McCabe had 22 points for Boonton. John Hamill had 21 points and Jaison Buchanan had 20 for Kinnelon.

Mountain Lakes 48, Pequannock 43

Senior guard Matt Reese scored 23 points to lift the Lakers. He had 11 third-quarter points to help Mountain Lakes rally from a 37-30 deficit. Stan Wisneski scored 11 points for the Golden Panthers.

Jefferson 58, Newton 41

The Falcons improve to 18-0 on the season. Chris Telman scored 16 points, Tyler Jones had 13 and J. R. Reese had 11 for Jefferson. A 16-8 third quarter run gave the Falcons a double-digit advantage going into the final period. Newton’s Steven Kelly scored 15 points and surpassed the 1,000-point milestone.

Chatham 65, West Morris 54

Sophomore Graham Delaney scored 23 points to pace the Cougars. Junior Greg Mah added 13 points and helped Chatham to a 36-17 second-half performance. The Cougars are 12-6. West Morris falls to 10-8. The teams split the season-series.

Hanover Park 44, Dover 39

The Hornets enjoy a bounce-back win. Max Reynolds and Donny Dattolo scored nine points each and Nick Burbella added eight for Hanover Park (11-4). Ryan Charyshyn scored 21 points for Dover (10-8).

Morris Knolls 67, Montville 50

Ryan Bornemann scored 19 points and Carroll Rich added 14 points, nine rebounds and 14 assists for the Golden Eagles. A 22-14 third quarter run gave Morris Knolls the edge going into the fourth quarter. Jesse Warech scored 21 points and Jacob Kaplan had 17 for the Mustangs.

Parsippany Christian 69, Madison 49

Kevin Armstrong scored 24 points for the Dodgers.

Caldwell 55, Butler 50

Glenn Reger scored 15 points for the Bulldogs.
