Jefferson, Pequannock win holiday tournaments

Conor Asay scored 14 points including four 3-pointers and Jared Shuster added 11 points to lift Jefferson to a 65-49 victory in the final of the Morris Knolls Holiday Tournament in Denville on Tuesday.

Jefferson led 32-20 at the half. The Falcons pulled away with a 16-2 run in the final five minutes of the third quarter.

Shuster earned MVP honors and teammates Joe Rossi and Brendan Gill were named to the All-Tournament team. The victory lifts Jefferson to 3-0 on the season

Governor Livingston 39, Morris Knolls 35

Ryan Bornemann scored 14 points to pace the Golden Eagles in the consolation game. The contest was tied 28-all going into the fourth quarter. Morris Knolls drops to 2-2.

Blue and Gold Tournament

Pequannock 49, Livingston 42

Bryan Peters scored 13 points to propel the Golden Panthers to capture the final of the Blue and Gold Tournament. Ian Campbell scored nine points and was named tournament MVP.

Pequannock took a 10-4 first quarter lead and built it to a 25-10 halftime advantage. The Golden Panthers are 3-1 on the season.

Mountain Lakes 50, Asbury Park 40

Mark DiIonno scored 19 points, Brad Smith added 11 and Chris Boyhan scored 10 points to fuel the Lakers. The win lifts Mountain Lakes to 2-2 on the season.

Len Sepanak Tournament

Watchung Hills 64, Morristown 59

Kevin Hoehn scored 30 points including four 3-pointers for the Colonials in a consolation game . Morristown led 53-44 going into the final period.

Jack Mongey added 15 points all on 3-point shots. Morristown (2-3) knocked down 10 3-pointers in all.

Dodger Holiday Tournament

Newton 64, Parsippany Hills 36

The Braves led 31-15 by halftime. The Vikings drop to 1-3 on the season.

Warren Hills 53, Madison 31

Mike Bangs and Jesse Paradiso scored nine points apiece for the Dodgers in the consolation contest.

Cougar Classic

Hanover Park 82, Chatham 71

Graham Delaney scored 23 points for the Cougars (3-2). A 28-19 fourth quarter effort lifted the Hornets to the road victory. Hanover Park is 4-2.

Regular season

Montville 59, Dover 55

The Mustangs improve to 5-0 on the season. Jacob Kaplan scored 23 points and Erik Werhei had 12 points and 13 rebounds for Montville. The Mustangs rallied to victory with a 22-13 fourth-quarter rally.
