Mount Olive, Boonton, Chatham earn victories


Donte Wise had 15 points and 11 rebounds and Brandon Hood chipped in with 10 points to lift Mount Olive to a 63-50 road win over Mendham in boys basketball action on Monday.

A 15-6 second quarter run gave the Marauders a 32-18 halftime edge. Mount Olive improves to 4-0 on the season.

Brian Kenez had 15 points and Kevin Skehill added nine points for the Minutemen (4-2).

Roxbury 56, Ferris 49

The Gaels improve to 4-1.  Doug Alexander scored 19 points and Steven Loreng and Jack Clevenger added nine points apiece for Roxbury in the road victory.

Princeton 72, Morristown 64

Rohan Walker scored 20 points and Jack Mongey added 18 for the Colonials (2-4).

Boonton 71, Kinnelon 62

The Bombers improve to 2-4. Sammy Asani scored 27 points and dished 13 assist and Farzad Messaq added 11 points. Josh Smith added 10 points for Boonton which outscored Kinnelon 20-14 in the third quarter. Jaison Buchanan scored 18 points for the Colts (1-4).

Chatham 51, Sparta 31

Graham Delaney’s 12-point performance lifted the Cougars. Stefan Goles added eight points for Chatham which built a 28-17 halftime edge. The Cougars are 5-2.

Pope John 70, Delbarton 46

Steve Clapp scored 16 points and Roman Paulius had 11 for the Green Wave. Delbarton falls to 4-2.

Hanover Park 75, Parsippany 56

John Crown scored 23 points and Brad Daugherty scored 11 points and snatched 13 rebounds to fuel the Hornets’ triumph. Donny Dattolo added 11 points and four rebounds for Hanover Park. A 26-11 second quarter effort built a 43-24 advantage at the half. Declan Devens scored 19 points and Hayden Cerrato added 10 points for the Red Hawks (2-3).

Morris Catholic 75, Whippany Park 60

Amir Allen scored 18 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for the Crusaders. Amir Hamilton scored 17 points and Sean Mollahan had 14 points and 12 rebounds. Morris Catholic took control with a 19-4 first-quarter effort. Mark Basista, Ryan Gaynor and Joe Michalewski each scored 13 points for the Wildcats (2-3).The Crusaders are 3-4.

Mountain Lakes 48, Dover 40

Chris Boyhan scored 16 points, Mark DiIonno scored 14 points and Peyton Miller added 12 points for the Lakers. The Lakers (3-2) pulled ahead with a 10-2 third-quarter run. Dwayne Brown scored 19 points for Dover (3-4).

West Morris 56, Parsippany Hills 21

Conor Barron scored 24 points and Billy Froetscher scored 18 points to spark the Wolfpack. West Morris took control early and led 18-5 by the end of the first quarter. West Morris is 4-3.

Hackettstown 46, Jefferson 33

The Falcons fall to 3-1.

Vernon 57, Morris Tech 35

David Douglas scored 13 points for the Devils. Morris Tech is 1-5 on the season.

Caldwell 40, Butler 27

The Bulldogs drop to 0-5.
