Parsippany triumphs; Boonton’s D’Avonzo scores 1000th point

Declan Devens scored 18 points to lift Parsippany to a 50-31 victory over sister school Parsippany Hills on Friday.

The Red Hawks used a 15-2 second quarter effort to take a 27-16 halftime advantage in front of a packed gym at Parsippany High. Hayden Cerrato added nine points and nine rebounds for Parsippany (7-6).

Evan Chao scored 10 points for the Vikings (2-9).

Boonton 72, Madison 59

Chris D’Avonzo scored 26 points including his 1,000th point to lift the Bombers. Sammy Asani added a double-double with 18 points and 10 assists. Teammate Josh Smith had eight points and 11 rebounds for Boonton (7-6). Casey Weiss scored 16 points and Santi Quintero added 12 points for the Dodgers (2-10).

Queen of Peace 61, Kinnelon 49

A 23-10 third-quarter effort by Queen of Peace doomed the Colts. Kinnelon falls to 2-10.
