Barron lifts West Morris; Morris Knolls, Whippany Park triumph

Senior guard Conor Barron scored 23 points including his 1,000th career point in West Morris’ 59-53 win over Delbarton in boys basketball action on Tuesday.

Billy Proetscher added 14 for the Wolfpack (10-11). West Morris pulled ahead with a 17-10 third quarter performance. Robbie Price scored 18 points and Steve Clapp added 16 for the Green Wave.

Whippany Park 79, Kinnelon 67

Mark Basista scored 31 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished eight assists for the Wildats. Joe Michalewsky added 20 points and 11 rebounds and Ryan Gaynor scored 17 points for Whippany Park (9-10). Matt Stewart scored 21 points and Charles Van Schalscha added 20 for the Colts.

Vernon 62, Butler 40

Thomas LaChance scored 12 points for the Bulldogs.

Mountain Lakes 63, Madison 54

A 12-7 third-quarter run helped the Lakers to a 46-40 advantage going into the fourth quarter. Mountain Lakes is 11-9.

Jefferson 74, Sussex Tech 38

The Falcons improve to 15-5 with the triumph.

Morris Knolls 43, Chatham 36

Michael Chapman had 19 points and six rebounds and Jared Badalamenti scored 12 points to fuel the Golden Eagles (10-9).

Mount Olive 67, Morris Hills 56 

Jason Drury and Donte Wise scored 12 points apiece to fuel the Marauders. Mount Olive led 32-27 at the half. Scarlet Knights’ Matt Toohey led all scorers with 23 points.

Montville 74, Parsippany Hills 49

Erik Werheim scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to propel the Mustangs. Jacob Kaplan added 19 points for Montville. The Mustangs took control early with a 19-5 first-quarter advantage.

Pequannock 61, Boonton 40

The Golden Panthers are 13-7. James Hitchcock and Bryan Peters scored 11 points apiece. Pequannock took control early with a 17-3 first quarter. Chris D’Avanzo scored 10 points for the Bombers.

Mendham 48, Randolph 40

Robert Annen scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Minutemen. Keith Hall had 11 points and Brendan O’Donnell added eight points and five rebounds for Mendham (15-5). Luke Nathan scored 13 points for the Rams.
