Pequannock triumps; DeBell earns 200th win

Bryan Peters scored 19 points and James Hitchcock added 11 to lift Pequannock to a 59-54 triumph over Delbarton in boys basketball action. The win was also Jeff DeBell’s 200th varsity coaching victory. An 11-6 fourth-quarter effort provided the difference for Pequannock. Steve Clapp scored 16 points and Robbie Price had 12 points for the Green Wave.

Dover 55, Newton 46

Dwayne Brown and Alex Cruz each scored 14 points to fuel the Tigers’ triumph. Dayshaun Bradshaw scored nine points and Dmitri Brouard added eight for Dover. A  21-13 second-quarter run helped Dover to a 30-23 advantage at the half.

Boonton 82, Hopatcong 57

Chris D’Avanzo had 24 points and Farzad Messaq added 14 for the Bombers. Boonton pulled away with a 24-12 fourth-quarter advantage. Josh Smith added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Morris Catholic 63, Kinnelon 50

The Crusaders improved to 13-10. Amir Allen scored 27 points and Jordan Spencer added 17 points for Morris Catholic. Matt Stewart scored 13 points for the Colts.

West Caldwell Tech 54, Morris Tech 48

Yousef Khan scored 19 points for the Devils (6-13).

Pope John 71, Morris Hills 40

Matt Toohey scored 13 points for the Scarlet Knights (6-15).
