Chatham is last team standing in state tournament play

The Chatham boys basketball team is the sole remaining Morris County team in the state tournament after Friday’s proceedings.

Chatham defeated West Essex 48-42 in North Jersey Section 2, Group III action.

Colin McKenna scored 15 points, Jake Bevich scored nine points and Graham Delaney added eight for the second seeded Cougars.

Chatham led 22 -17 at the half and maintained an advantage the rest of the way. The Cougars are 19-8. Chatham advances to play Orange in the semifinal round tonight at Chatham High.

North 1, Group III

Garfield 61, Montville 54

The Mustangs led 26-22 at the half but Garfield rallied. Jacob Kaplan scored 15 points and Jacob Coleman had 10 for Montville (19-6).

North 2, Group III

Orange 67, Mendham 58

The Minutemen finish the season at 21-6.

North Parochial A

Don Bosco Prep 90, Delbarton 68

Steve Clapp scored 18 points and Robbie Price had 15 against state ranked Don Bosco. The Green Wave finish at 10-15 on the season.

North Parochial B

Hudson Catholic 88, Morris Catholic 49

Amir Allen scored 19 points and Amir Hamilton had 14 to pace the Crusaders. Morris Catholic finished at 15-13.
