Roxbury, Pequannock post MCT upsets

Grant Dixon scored 21 points to help Roxbury upset West Morris 61-41 in preliminary round Morris County Tournament action on Saturday. Steven Loreng added 12 points for the 19th-seeded Gaels. Roxbury overcame a 13-9 first-quarter deficit and led 24-19 at the half. Dom Grauso and Chase Wanic scored 11 points each for the 14th-seeded Wolfpack.

Jefferson 66, Montville 48

Steven Brennan’s 20-point performance sparked the 16th-seeded Falcons. Jefferson rallied from behind with a 22-4 third-quarter run. Jared Shuster added 11 points for the Falcons. Alex Landis scored 14 points for 17th-seeded Montville. Jefferson faces top seed Chatham next.

Dover 101, Kinnelon 70

The Tigers led 55-30 at the half and slowly pulled away.

Pequannock 52, Morris Hills 48

The 18th-seeded Golden Panthers earned a road upset. Derek Nelson scored 20 points and Jamie Morella had 10 for Pequannock. The Golden Panthers face second-seeded Randolph in the next round. Chris Carabello scored 21 points for the Scarlet Knights.

Whippany Park 75, Parsippany Hills 44

The Wildcats pulled away with 22-3 fourth-quarter surge.

Mountain Lakes  64, Boonton 35

The 12th-seeded Lakers advance with the help of a 25-point performance by Tate Gillie. Jim Schicke added 13 points. Mountain Lakes plays Hanover Park in the next round. Connor Davis and Nate Maquilin scored 10 apiece for the Bombers.

Regular season

Wayne Valley 66 Randolph 65

The Rams drop to 11-3. Luke Nathan scored 22 points and Ryan Maughan had 15 for Randolph
