Chatham edges Snyder in state play

Tristan LeMon’s layup with 47.1 seconds remaining gave Chatham the lead for good in a 44-43 win over Snyder in North 2, Group III quarterfinal round action on Wednesday.

Chatham hosts Rahway in semifinal action on Friday. The win lifts the Cougars to 27-1.

Colin McKenna led Chatham with 18 points and Jack Rooney added 13 points.

The close contest was tied at 21 at halftime and 31 at the end of the third quarter.

Snyder took a two-point lead on three separate occasions late in the fourth quarter but the Cougars always rallied back with scores by McKenna. LeMon’s game winner was set up by a Rooney steal.
