Mo-Beard stops Chatham; Hanover Park triumphs


Brian Monaghan scored 23 points including five 3-pointers to lift Morristown Beard to a 69-62 victory over Chatham in boys basketball action on Friday.

Justin Rodriguez had 19 points and hit 7 of 8 free throws in the fourth quarter and Raphael Castillo had 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Crimson (9-2). Morristown-Beard led 31-20 at the half and maintained at least a six point advantage the rest of the way. Graham LeMon had 26 points and Jack Rooney had 17 for the Cougars (9-2).

Hanover Park 59, Mountain Lakes 53

Michael Boeckel had 17 points and six assists to pace the Hornets. Joey Jandoli added 14 points and seven rebounds and Matt Winschuh added a dozen points for Hanover Park. Tate Gillie paced the Lakers with 22 points.

Mendham 59, Delbarton 54

Vince Falvo’s 27 points sparked a home victory for the Minutemen. Rya Stolz added nine points for Mendham which took a 22-13 first-quarter advantage.

Morris Catholic 61, Whippany Park 55

The Crusaders move to 4-5. Jesse Paradiso scored 22 points and Chimdi Ewenike added 15 for Morris Catholic. The Crusaders used a 22-14 second quarter effort to build a 36-23 halftime advantage. Robbie Madison scored 16 points for the Wildcats.

Morristown 64, Montville 51

The Colonials are 7-2. Kevin Hoehn’s 24-point effort sparked Morristown. The Colonials too control with a 36-24 second-half effort. Ashton Pardie added 16 points and Luke Haralampoudis added 11 for Morristown. Alex Landis scored 22 points for the Mustangs.

Mount Olive 63, West Morris 49

An 18-6 third-quarter effort helped the Marauders build a 43-31 edge going into the fourth quarter.

Parsippany 44, Dover 27

Khalid Alzubi and Emil Matti each notched 13 points apiece. The Red Hawks led 12-2 at the end of the first quarter and maintained an advantage the rest of the way.

Randolph 64, Morris Hills 47

The Rams are 7-3. Luke Nahan scored 25 points and Mario Haklaj added 13 points for Randolph. Philip Pydyszewski scored 14 points for the Scarlet Knights.
