Knolls edges WMC; Delbarton wins

Christian Bornemann scored 19 points including a pair of free throws with 19 seconds left to spark Morris Knolls to a 50-49 triumph over West Morris in boys basketball action on Tuesday.

Jordan McDaniel added nine points, Cole Franchi had eight points and 10 rebounds and Nick Vittorio sealed the victory with a steal with three seconds remaining. The Golden Eagles improve to 7-3.  Dillon Olsen, Declan Healy and Charles Roehrich had 12 points apiece for the Wolfpack (3-8).

Pope John 47, Chatham 32

The Cougars drop to 9-3. Graham LeMon scored nine points for Chatham.

Delbarton 58, Jefferson 52

Jacob Sussman and Nick Gubler each scored a dozen in the Green Wave victory. Steve Breeman had 20 points to pace the Falcons.

Mountain Lakes 54, Dover 47

Tate Gillie scored 22 points and Jake Schicke added 19 to fuel the Lakers’ triumph. Mountain Lakes rallied from a 29-20 halftime deficit. Sebastian Garcia scored 13 points for the Tigers.

Hanover Park 69, Madison 59

Matt Winschuh’s 20-point effort helped the Hornets’ triumph. Joey Jandoli added 17 points. An 18-10 fourth quarter run gave Hanover Park a late edge. The Hornets are 9-4. Andy Cristos scored 25 points for the Dodgers (5-6).

Mount Olive 61, Mendham 54

The win lifts the Marauders to 3-6 on the season.

Sparta 65, Montville 55

The Mustangs drop to 6-5. Liam Cassidy paced Montville with 23 points.

Kinnelon 64, Boonton 42

The Colts improved to 10-2. Austin Tchikatilov scored 18 points and Matt Stewart scored 13 points for Kinnelon. Nate Maquiling scored 14 points for the Bombers.

Morris Catholic 59, Butler 45

Jesse Paradiso’s 19-point performance helped spark the Crusaders. A 20-10 second quarter burst helped Morris Catholic build a 33-14 halftime advantage. Danny Polons had 16 points for the Bulldogs.The Crusaders are 5-6.

Morristown 43, Morris Hills 29

Kevin Hoehn scored 20 points to lift the Colonials to victory. Morristown led 14-4 at the end of the first quarter and 28-10 at the half. Morristown is 8-2. Andrew Behrendt scored 10 points for the Scarlet Knights.
