Chatham tops Millburn; Butler, Kinnelon triumph

Jack Rooney scored 20 points including a game-winning jumper in Chatham’s 54-53 win over Millburn in boys basketball action on Thursday.

Graham LeMon added 18 points. The contest was close throughout with the Cougars holding an 8-5 edge in the final period. Ross Greig scored 20 points for the Millers.

Montville 61, Morristown 52

Matt Burke scored 18 points and Alex Landis had 16 points in the Mustangs triumph. Kevin Hoehn paced Morristown with 24 points.

Butler 58, Morris Catholic 54

Chris LeChance had 18 points to spark the Bulldogs. Butler rallied from a 38-33 third-quarter deficit. Danny Polons added 16 points for the Bulldogs (3-16). Chimdi Ewenike had 17 points for the Crusaders.

Kinnelon 71, Boonton 55

Austin Tchikatilov’s 30 point effort powered the Colts. Easton Smith added 15 and Bobby Lewit had 14 for Kinnelon. Lorenzo Lebrun had 16 points and Ty Dauti had 15 for the Bombers.

Delbarton 55, Mendham 52

Miles Leniw had 15 points and Matt Douglas added 14 for the Green Wave (15-6). Ryan Stolz scored 10 points for the Minutemen.

Hanover Park 69, Madison 65

The Dodgers led 46-45 going into the fourth quarter. The Hornets are 15-6.

Mountain Lakes, 61 Dover 49

Tate Gillie scored 20 points to propel the Lakers. Jake Schicke added 16 points and 10 assists for Mountain Lakes (15-7). Shaun Cave had 13 points and Sebastian Garcia had 11 for the Tigers.

Mount Olive 58, Morris Hills 55

The Marauders jumped ahead with an 18-9 first quarter effort.

Morristown-Beard 79, Whippany Park 53

The Crimson improve to 20-3. Zach Dees scored 25 points and Brian Monaghan had 16 for the Crimson. Vedanth Nair scored 13 for the Wildcats.

Roxbury 51, Parsippany Hills 33

The Gaels led 23-7 at the end of the first quarter and cruised the rest of the way.

Jefferson 43, Sparta 36

Joe Batelli scored 21 points to spark the Falcons. A 17-7 third-quarter run helped Jefferson build a 39-28 fourth quarter advantage.

Morris Knolls 84, West Morris 61

Jordan McDaniel scored 22 points to spark the Golden Eagles. Nick Vittorio scored 15 points and Christian Bornemann added 11 for Morris Knolls.The Golden Eagles are 12-8. Charles Roehrich had 14 points for the Wolfpack.
